IoT - Internet of Things - March 1, 2017

IoT - John Osborne.
Innovation is not constrained to individuals, teams or organizations. In some cases, the best to way to innovate is when entire industries comes together to share the effort and the investment necessary. Industry innovation is one approach that is commonly overlooked and undervalued. In this discussion we will cover machine to machine (M2M) component of the IoT - zigbee.

For a primer, this is a recording of a national radio show I was a guest on recently. http://killerinnovations.com/industry-innovation/

John E. Osborne II is currently the Chairman of the Board of the zigbee alliance (a global SDO) and General Manager of Research & Development at The Kroger Co. John’s expertise is in computer science combined with business management, negotiation and purchasing disciplines. He has been responsible for enterprise wide operational and technical projects budgets worth millions of dollars. What is Enterprise Mobility Management? - February 1, 2017

Mobile devices are changing the way that work gets done.  Your workers want the choice of devices and tools to be productive.  However, an uncontrolled mobile environment, sometimes referred to as Shadow IT, introduces potential risk to data and systems.

The challenge for business is to enable productivity while ensuring security. Enter “Enterprise Mobility Management” (EMM).  This presentation will introduce EMM and its subcomponents, and how enterprises can enable productivity tools on mobile devices, while protecting against data loss and unauthorized access.

David Wilshire is a Principal Consultant with Resolvit IT and Management Consulting, with several years’ experience in Enterprise Mobility Management at GE and Synchrony Financial.  He became a CINPA member in 2016, and is an AirWatch Accredited  Mobility Professional.

Networking - Jan 4, 2017

For our first meeting of 2017 we are going to have a networking session.  Not the kind of networking that we do at our work and at most of our meetings – but a human kind of networking.  After all NETWORKING is the second word of our CINPA name.  This is more like your Chamber of Commerce networking or BNI kind of meetings.  If you are used to just being an observer this will be different because everyone is going to get the floor for a short time to tell the rest of the group about you.  I’m not expecting any powerpoints or large productions – more like an introduction to who you are, what you do, what you want to do, what you like, etc. etc etc.  If you want to do a powerpoint you can – it’s just not required.

Speaking for myself I think I know many of you but some I don’t know as well as I know others.  This will help me get to know you better.  Hopefully this will be just as useful for the rest of you as well. This can be useful for someone that might be looking for a job, or interested in learning or exploring new areas or even someone looking to hire a person to fill a position.

As always our meetings are open to the public. Please help get the word out and I will look forward to seeing you Wednesday.

Thanks.

Regards,

Allen
