Virtual (Really) - February 6, 2013

MTM is sponsoring this evening and the presenter will be

Rob Arnett - CCA, CDCUCD, MCP, MCTS, CSSA - Virtualization Architect

The Virtual Desktop Experience without the Virtual Desktop Cost!

In companies across the US and the world, Virtualization is one of, if the, the biggest project they have slated for this year. Most of these companies have been doing these projects for the last several years. The term “Virtualization” used to be combining multiple servers on a single physical host. The upsides of this are obvious from a numbers point of view. Simply stated:

I need 20 New Servers.

20 x 1 DL380 with Dual Quad Core Processors, 8GB of RAM and Dual 500GB Hard Disk with a cost of about $8000.00 per server, means I have a budget needed of $160,000.00

Same scenario but utilizing Virtualization.

I need 20 New Servers.

2 x 1 DL380 with Dual 10 Core Processors, 96GB of RAM and Dual 136GB Hard Disk with a cost of about $18,000.00 and a 8 TB SAN with a cost of about $24,000.00, means I have a budget needed of $42,000.00.

Now of Course this is just the Hardware cost we are talking so far, and you will have all the Microsoft cost, XenServer or vSphere, but you have about $118,000.00 to work with from the Original budget. This is why all these companies are taking advantage of Virtualization.

The same reason companies are taking advantage of Server Virtualization, are the same reasons we can help you use Virtualization to address your Desktops. Not only can we address the desktops, but we can make the environment a more functional and versatile world for the End Users to live in, and see the same kind of cost saving we are seeing above.

Please join us for ways to Virtualize Your Desktops.
